WeWork India, a leading office space provider, on Tuesday announced a 10-day extended break for its employees during Diwali.

The surprise holiday break was announced to help the employees celebrate the festival of lights with their family and loved ones and enjoy some much-needed downtime, according to a statement.

In addition, the company offers ten days of workation where the employees can travel to any location across the country and work, allowing the employees to enjoy the privilege of working and being productive while enjoying nature or a different cultural experience, the statement said.

Also, the company has stepped up its employee engagement and wellness initiatives and introduced a ‘homecoming programme’ for parents returning to work after parental leave.

WeWork launched a ‘Further Education Programme’ to help its employees achieve their professional aspirations aligned to business needs, allowing them to learn while they earn and strengthen their work experience without having to take a career break or leave the organisation, according to the statement.

Priti Shetty, Head of People, WeWork India, said, “2021 has been a year of braving towards an ever-evolving situation. While it is difficult to articulate the level of personal challenges people have faced, our workforce has continued to adapt, be agile and put in the extra effort to ensure business continuity and exceptional member experience.”

Shetty further said, “Our teams at WeWork India have worked relentlessly to ensure we continue to be a leader in the flexible workspace category and delight our members. As a gesture of gratitude towards the contribution and resilience of our people, we have offered a 10-day Diwali break.”

“Behind every great employee, is a family who has provided a strong support system and this is our way of saying thank you to the loved-ones of our employees as well, and hope the festive season brings much joy and celebrations, in a safe way,” Shetty added.
